Wanted to introduce myself....My name is Tiffany, my boyfriend, Mike and I recently brought home our first GSD from a breeder here in Al.
We named him Link. I posted a question on the forum not to long ago about Link humping us
thats gotten more under control now. He is a headsrtong little thing to only be 3 and 1/2 months old,
So we may have questions for you experts. I've had dogs before, but not really a powerful breed.

I got it for ya, no worries!!
I like Mr. Link
It is going to be interesting to see how dark he is @ full maturity.
I am a "Showlines" person myself
But
I do find the other lines interesting especially those like Link
who darken up as they mature.
I wont wish away his puppyhood on ya tho, its too much fun!
Enjoy the next few months and take lots of pictures!!
(Post some too)
Mike

Thanks! He is handsome. The breeder we got him from breeds the "black, working dog" shepherds,so his coat may get alot darker.I didnt know there was a difference in "showline" and "workingline" dogs.I will post pics often

Now I know what by meaning line. In India I most common is German show dog, which pure breed or cross breed.
German working dog I rarely seem here, but again since I was not aware of these lines, if I see a pure breed American GSD or Pure breed German working dog I would have thought it is a cross breed.
By the way Mr. Link is such a sweet little puppy who is about same age of our Blackie. Does he take bath like this without any issue?

He does stay stilll to take a bath and to be brushed. He loves to play in the pool so it comes easy.He is a puppy so he will bite at the brush. The vet said your not suppose to bath them that much so he has only had 2 baths.

Link is gorgeous. Working line Sables do tend to get a lot darker as they grow. I'm real interested to see a Link pic in September time frame!

Good for you, we have given bath only ones to Blackie. He was so scared of bath.
I am thinking of giving bath every week or twice in a month.

Put a toy in a little pool of water outside and try to get the pup to play in it.Something the pup can step in and out of.Give treats when in the water. So the pup will see it as fun to be in the water. You will have to do it couple times a week maybe before pup starts getting in on her on.That may make bath time easier for you and fun for pup.Just an opinion.Im no trainer.
